Poetry of modernity

The D43 stands for a soft, organic design language: gently rounded and cosy, with elegant cushions that allow long, comfortable and relaxed sitting at the dining table. Ideal for cosy evenings with family or friends. A special feature of the D43 is the wickerwork, which is hand-woven in the Tecta workshops in Lauenförde: The durable, skin-friendly and hard-wearing Oeko-Tex wickerwork combines look and feel and follows Gropius’ idea of combining art and technology. The cantilever precision steel tubes are manufactured in Upper Franconia by specialised metalworkers. The interplay of warm wickerwork and cool steel, of aesthetics and technology, gives the D43 its special character.

New Wickerwork

The new Öko-Tex materials from TECTA are durable, skin-friendly and resistant. Wickerwork materials that combine look and feel and represent Gropius’ desire to see “art and technology” as a new unit. The tension between warm wickerwork and cool steel, between aesthetics and technology – this is what characterizes the Tecta wickerwork collections. And also the two new wicker materials that combine functionality and aesthetics.
