A trainee carpenter at the Bauhaus and later a renowned architect in Frankfurt, Erich Brendel was one of the few artisans at the Bauhaus able to make a name for himself with his own designs. Inspired by the clear lines of Walter Gropius’ director’s office, Brendel designed a fold-out dining table, which was documented as Work No. 7 in the catalogue »Neue Arbeiten der Bauhaus-Werkstätten«. Faithfully reproduced by TECTA, this extraordinary object is also available in a smaller sofa-table edition at the suggestion of Erich Brendel.
