Vernissage
»Generationen«

A summery afternoon offered numerous visitors the perfect setting for a trip to Tecta Landscape in Lauenförde. Artist Kerstin Bruchhäuser presented two new works for the Tecta Cantilever Chair Museum in conversation with presenter Katharina von Ruschkowski and museum director Daniela Drescher. Also on display until 2 November 2024 is another newly created textile installation made from fabric remnants as well as 14 existing works from the installation “you may recognize yourself”. We would like to thank all visitors for a wonderful vernissage.

Textile portraits

Exclusively for the Tecta Cantilever Chair Museum: two new works by Kerstin Bruchhäuser.
Inspired by photographic portraits of women taken by T. Lux Feininger during sports lessons, Kerstin Bruchhäuser created textile portraits of Bauhaus women from white linen. Kerstin Bruchhäuser stages the women’s balancing act between departure and retreat and presents the epitome of the modern, independent woman at the Bauhaus in two new, floor-to-ceiling works. Normal, upside down and on the move – this energy is potentiated in the interaction with the chair exhibits of the Tecta Cantilever Chair Museum.

edition K

The D4 armchairs with patchwork straps made from old tapestries, which were created exclusively for the Tecta Cantilever Chair Museum as part of the exhibition, were also shown to the public for the first time. With its play of textile colors, the special edition forms an expressive contrast to the nickel-plated tubular steel frames of the D4 and invited visitors to take a closer look at the pixel worlds.
