The visit to our long-standing partner ACTUS in Tokyo was a great experience for the TECTA team – full of inspiration, solidarity and new ideas. For more than 40 years, we have been connected by much more than a successful collaboration: it is a friendship that has grown, based on trust, openness and a shared attitude towards design and culture. The warm hospitality, the deeply felt mutual appreciation and the shared understanding of design have made this trip a special moment in our partnership – unique and lasting.

長年のパートナーである東京のACTUSへの訪問はTECTAチームにとってインスピレーションや連体感を感じるもの、また新しいアイデアに満ち溢れた素晴らしい経験となりました。40年以上もの間、私たちは豊かなビジネス関係以上に、友好的な繋がりを結んできました。それは信頼、柔軟さや、デザインと文化に対する共通の姿勢に基づいて育まれてきた友情です。暖かいおもてなしやお互いの深い尊重、そして何よりデザインに対する共通の理解がこの旅を私たちの関係をより深め、特別なものにしました。

Two impressive exhibitions on the history and products of Tecta – curated and realised by Actus – formed the highlights of our trip. The first was a generously staged presentation in the Actus Store Marunouchi: a well thought-out room design with thematically organised focal points immediately captivated the visitors. Another highlight was our visit to the National Art Centre Tokyo. There, a white exhibition space, strikingly structured by black lines, provided an exciting stage for selected Tecta designs. In this inspiring setting, Christian Drescher gave an impressive lecture on Tecta’s philosophy and heritage. These special experiences impressively reflect what characterises our partnership: mutual respect, deep appreciation and a shared understanding of design. We look forward to the next steps with joy and confidence – into a future that we will continue to shape together.

今回の旅のハイライトとなったのが2つの展覧会でした。それはACTUSがキュレーションして実現をしたTectaの歴史とプロダクトをテーマにした展示で、東京の旅を印象付けました。一つ目は丸の内店で開催された展示で、テーマごとに構成された稠密な空間デザインが、我々を含め訪れた人々を一瞬で魅了しました。二つ目は国立新美術館での展示でした。選ばれたTectaのデザインの刺激的な舞台となったのは、黒いラインが印象的な白い展示スペースでした。この空間で、クリスチャン・ドレッシャー氏はTECTAの哲学と伝統について印象的な講演を行いました。このような特別な経験は、私たちの関係性を作り上げる基盤を映し出しました。お互いへの敬意や深い理解、デザインに対する共通の想いや姿勢。それらがこの東京での3日間はもちろん、今後の関係性をも特徴付ける価値観であることを感じ取ることが出来たのはとても大きく、新しい価値となることでしょう。私たちは期待と自信を胸に今後の新たな一歩を楽しみにしています。共にデザインし、創っていく未来を。
